The duties of the Deacons are: (1) to minister to those in need, and (2) to carry out any duties assigned by the Session (the governing body of our church). There are two committees that make up the Deacons: (1) The Fellowship Committee, and (2) The Outreach and Visitation Committee.

MODERATOR: John Weeden
The responsibilities of the moderator are to lead meetings, prepare meeting agendas, provide Deacon updates to the Church Administrator, write monthly Deacon’s Bench articles for the newsletter, Saints Alive! and prepare and turn in the Board of Deacons’ Annual Report at fiscal year end.
VICE MODERATOR: Carolyn Rose
The responsibility of the Vice Moderator is to lead meetings in the absence of the Moderator.
SECRETARY: Bill Marshall
The responsibilities of the Secretary are to record and distribute meeting minutes, present meeting minutes at each meeting, administer roll call and take attendance at each meeting.
TREASURER: Julie Burr
The responsibilities of the Treasurer are to maintain the Deacons’ financial records, prepare and distribute the Treasurer’s Report for each meeting and prepare and turn in the Board of Deacons’ Annual Report at fiscal year end.
The responsibilities of the Fellowship Chair are to ensure scheduled activities/events have leadership and volunteers and to work with the Church Administrator to schedule event dates.
OUTREACH AND VISITATION CHAIR: Bernie Barnes
The responsibilities of the Outreach and Visitation Chair are to maintain a monthly schedule for new member visitations, communicate monthly visitation schedule to the Church Administrator, coordinate delivery of Christmas and Easter plants to shut-in members, coordinate delivery of “Calendars for Newborns,” coordinate visits/calls to “shut-ins” and to coordinate cards/calls to members not recently attending church using the list provided by the Pastor.

Attend Session meetings – one Deacon each month, except July
Calendars for newborns – Outreach committee
Contact First-time Visitors – Outreach and Visitation Committee: Karen Glass/Cheryl Monjot
Corresponding Secretary: John Weeden
Cook and Serve Easter Breakfast – all Deacons
Coordinator for member assistance (such as providing transportation as needed) – all Deacons
Lead devotions at each Deacon’s meeting – one Deacon each month
